Kolporter Holding

The Kolporter S. A. is a press distribution companies in Poland. Together with the Ruch S. A. it dominates the Polish press distribution market. In addition to newspapers and magazines also everyday items ( FMCG) are sold. According to the company, around 36,000 outlets are supplied. Organized as a holding company of Kielce is majority owned by millionaire Krzysztof Klicki who is planning an IPO for Kolporter.

History

The name of the company is derived from the Polish word Kolportaż ( press distribution ). After the introduction of the market economy in Poland Klicki began in 1990 with the delivery of the daily Gazeta Wyborcza. He supplied initially primarily retailers of PSS " Społem " chain. Begun as a commercial activity and active only in Kielce business he built quickly from a regional press wholesaling. The first branch of the young company was opened in Katowice, then followed Wroclaw. After soon a nationwide distribution was constructed Klicki began in 1993 with the production of stalls as well as the marketing of non - press products. As of 1995, various subsidiaries incurred: 1997 Kolporter Service ( FMCG sales ) and the 2001 Kolporter Sieci Handlowe ( Convenience Stores ) was founded; 2002 succeeded in the acquisition of a major competitor Warsaw, the Jard Press SA. During the following years saw the establishment of other companies as well to frequent name changes of these subsidiaries. The end of 2009, a separate e-book reader has been put on the market.

In spring 2011, the conversion into a public limited company (SA ) has been completed. A planned for late autumn IPO, however, had to be canceled due to a slump in the Polish market.

In the list of 500 largest enterprises in Poland, which is published annually by the weekly magazine Polityka, Kolporter is out on 54th place in 2012. The company sees itself as number one on the Polish media market ( Cyfrowy Polsat is located at 99th and the Polish subsidiary of Bauer Media Group in 146th place this ranking. ) In the Province of Holy Cross Kolporter is, according to the newspaper ECHA Dnia the largest companies.

Kolporter was 2002-2008 sponsor of the football club Korona Kielce, who was able to rise in a row in the Ekstraklasa. Due to a corruption scandal in the club finished Kolporter its sponsorship.
