The Koninklijke Hollandse Maatschappij der Wetenschappen ( KHMW ) is a scientific society, founded in 1752. It is the oldest learned society of its kind in the Netherlands. In 2002, she was the 250th anniversary of the title " Royal " conferred. The aim of the society is to promote science. It has its seat since 1841 in the conservation Hodshon Huis on Spaarne Shore ( Spaarne 17) in Haarlem, North Holland. King Willem- Alexander is the patron. History

The company was founded in 1752 by the Haarlem Mayor moraine, arent with six other citizens of the city to life. This also took over the first presidency. Organizational structure
