Konongo (also: Konongo - Odumase ) is a town in the Ashanti Region in the West African nation of Ghana. It is the capital of the Asante Akim North District. At the last census of the country on 26 March 2000, there were 26,735 residents in the city. Extrapolations from 1 January 2007 estimate the population to 34 509 inhabitants. Even in the census of the year 1984 13.677 inhabitants were listed. Even in 1970 the population was a mere 10,881 inhabitants.

Currently, the city is located at 42nd position in the list of the largest cities in Ghana.
