Konopnica, Wieluń County
Konopnica ( until 1947 Jastrzębiec; Konopnica German, 1943-1945 hemp hut) is a village located in powiat Wielunski in the region of Łódź, Poland. Konopnica is the capital of the homonymous country church ( gmina wiejska ).

Geography
Konopnica located 23 km north-east of Wieluń and 63 km south-west of Łódź on the Warta River.
History
Konopnica 1331 was mentioned for the first time in a document. 1642 the construction of a church and the monastery Paulinów was completed. The monastery was later demolished, only the church remained.
From 1975 to 1998 Konopnica belonged to the province Sieradz

The municipality has a surface area of 83.06 km ². 66 % of its territory is used for agriculture, 25 % is covered by forest.

Education
The municipality has three primary schools ( szkoła podstawowa ) and a middle school ( gimnazjum ).
