Konstantin Gorbatov

Konstantin Gorbatov (also Konstantin Ivanovich Gorbatov, Russian Константин Иванович Горбатов; . * 5 Maijul / May 17 1876greg in Stavropol, Russia in the province of Samara, . † May 24, 1945 in Berlin) was a representative of the Russian Impressionism as well as a professor of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts.

Life

From 1896 to 1903 Gorbatov lived in Riga. In 1903 he moved to St. Petersburg in 1912 to Rome. Later he lived again in Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg) before he left the country in 1922 forever. He then lived in Italy until 1926 and from then until his death in Berlin.

During his time in Berlin, he traveled extensively. Among other things, he was in Palestine, Finland, Capri, Venice and London.

Works

Gorbatov is an impressionist painter. His works are highly traded today. The gallery Abel in Cologne organized in May 1931 Collective exhibition of his works. Many of his works are also available as a poster or calendar.
