He was a professor of psychology at the University of Riga and represented, among other Nazi ideas. Before returning conquest of Latvia by the Russians in 1944, he fled with the writer Zenta maurina Silesia and the Ore Mountains to Detmold. There, the two married in 1946. Finally, she emigrated to Sweden, where Raudive professor at the Swedish University of Uppsala was. In 1965 the couple was living in in Bad.

Inspired by Friedrich Jurgenson, he went to the mid-1960s in Sweden, explored Raudive during his last ten years in Germany, the electronic voice phenomenon (EVP) and was a leader in this field. With the help of a physicist and an electronics engineer he stored under strict laboratory conditions, about 72,000 " dead voices" ( Raudive Voices) on tape. He has published several books in which he documented this phenomenon and explained.

His estate (or parts) is located at the German Literature Archive in Marbach.
