History

In the 18th century

In the district surrounding stint bridge, church, Breden, Wilken and front Long road were in the 18th century still mixed small and medium sized, two - to three-storey residential and commercial buildings. Old warehouses and gabled houses still dominated the picture of the long road. The smaller gabled houses behind the Schütting had soft 1913 for the expansion of the Chamber of Commerce building. New in 1912

The new group of buildings was Langen-/Bredenstraße/Stintbrücke 1910-1912 by the Berlin architects Richard Bielenberg and Josef Moser in the Neo-Renaissance style for the Disconto Society, a major commercial bank until 1929, with headquarters in Berlin and branches in Bremen, Frankfurt am Main, London and Hamburg, built.
