The Korea University is a private university in the South Korean capital Seoul. It was founded in 1905 as the first modern institution of higher education in the country and today, with around 35,000 students, one of the most prestigious universities in South Korea and Asia. This is especially true in the areas of humanities and social sciences, and social sciences and management studies. In these disciplines, the Korea University is, according to the QS World University Ranking among the best 100 universities worldwide. The Korea University belongs to the Seoul National University and Yonsei University 's three elite universities in South Korea, collectively called SKY.
