Kostroga

Kostroga ( German Helenenhof ) is heard ( Bütow ) a small Kashubian settlement in the Polish province of Pomerania, the rural community to Czarna Dąbrówka ( Black Damerkow ) in the powiat Bytowski.

Geographical Location and Transport

Kostroga located in Pomerania, about ten kilometers south-southwest of the city Lębork ( Lauenburg in Pommern ) and two miles east of the church village Kozin ( Kosemühl ) - only by the provincial road 212 ( former German Empire Road 158) and a former railway line separately. By 1945, the formerly Helenenhof was called Place railway station on the route of Lauenburg in Pomerania after Buetow; after the end of World War II this was shut down and dismantled.

History

The village was originally a Vorwerk later by Kose (now Polish: Kozy ) incorporated municipality Kosemühl ( Kozin ) and is closely connected with its history with that of Kosemühl or Kose. In 1818 there were 18 inhabitants in Helenenhof 1871 but already 53 - with six residential buildings. Following construction of the railway line were distinguished in 1905 the villages Helenenhof -Good (62 residents, five residential buildings) and Helenenhof Station ( 12 inhabitants, two residential buildings ).

As a suburb of Kosemühl and later by Kose Helenenhof belonged until 1945 to the district of Stolp in Pomerania Region of Pomerania.

In the autumn of 1945 a Polish manager was in the neighboring Gliesnitz used, the goods Gliesnitz, Helenenhof, High Linde and Friedrichswalde (Alt Friedrichswalde and New Friedrichswalde, belonging to the village Wutzkow, southwest of the village center location Wutzkow districts ) should be farming. The villagers have been displaced in the aftermath of the poles. Helenenhof was renamed Kostroga.

The village is now a part of Gmina Czarna Dąbrówka, now however the powiat Bytowski ( Bütow ) attached.

Church

Ecclesiastical Helenenhof until 1945 with its predominantly Protestant population in the parish Mickrow (now Polish: Mikorowo ) incorporated, which belonged to the church Stolp - old town in the ecclesiastical province of the Church of the Old Prussian Pomerania Union. After 1945 Kostroga came to - now Catholic - parish Mikorowo ( Mickrow ) in the Office of the Dean Łupawa ( Lupow ) in the diocese of Pelplin of the Catholic Church in Poland. Here elebende Protestant church members are in the Cross parish in Slupsk ( Stolp ) of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland the parish in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland - with the branch church in Lębork ( Lauenburg in Pomerania ).
