Kota (also Ikota, Ikuta and Kotu ) is a Bantu language and is spoken by about 43,460 people in Gabon and the Republic of Congo ( census 2000).

It is used in Gabon in the province Ogooué- Ivindo with about 34,400 speakers and in the Republic of Congo in the regions of Cuvette and Sangha with about 9060 speakers.

Kota is written in the Latin script.

Classification

Kota is a Northwest Bantu language and belongs to Kele group that is classified as Guthrie Zone B20. Kota has several dialects.
