Kougny Department

Kougny is both a municipality (French commune Rurale ) and a comprehensive department of the same territory in the West African state of Burkina Faso in the region Boucle du Mouhoun and the province Nayala. The municipality has 15,818 inhabitants, most of Sanan in 10 villages.

The municipality is located in a cotton -growing area and is divided into the villages Goin Gounian, Gouri, Kamba, Kibiri, Kougny, Niaré, Nimina, Sébéré and Tiouma.
