Koundara Prefecture

Koundara is a prefecture in the region Boké in Guinea with about 109,000 inhabitants. Like all Guinean Prefectures it is after its capital, Koundara named.

The prefecture is located in the northwest of the country in the Fouta Djallon highlands of, adjacent to Guinea- Bissau and Senegal, and covers an area of 5,500 km ².
