The Kowmung River is a small river in the east of the Australian state of New South Wales.

The river flows southeast and describes a semi-circle around the center of the park. Then his run takes him on the border between Kanangra - Boyd National Park and the southern part of the Blue Mountains National Park to the north- east between the hills of Gingra Range and the Ganges Rank Range in the west and those of the Scotts Main Range in the east through. Finally, the Kowmung River turns northwest and flows north of the Gangetic Rank Range in the Coxs River just before it reaches the Lake Burragorang.

The river valley is with the exception of the small town Tuglow at the source, where there are interesting limestone caves and a non- paved road crosses the river, completely uninhabited and not accessible by roads.
