Kozielno

Kozielno ( German Kosel ) is a town in the municipality Paczków in Poland. It is located in powiat Nyski (Kreis Neisse ) in the Opole Voivodeship.

Geography

The village on the right bank of the Glatzer Neisse now lies on the southern edge of Patsch Kauer reservoir, about three kilometers west of the city Paczków ( Patschkau ) and is the westernmost municipality of the powiat Nyski. The village is 240 meters above sea level and the Reichensteiner mountains in the south is only a few kilometers away.

History

Was founded as Paczków in 1254, there were already Kosel. It originally belonged to the Duchy of Münsterberg. When the place was German law, is not known. The population is mixed to have been composed in the 13th century from Poland and Germans. In the 14th century the Schulzin Elisabeth Lenge donated money for the expansion of the parish church in Patschkau - an indication that at the time this church was built. At this parish the village belongs also to this day. As the whole environment - - In the Thirty Years' War, the town was devastated; subsequently settled there soldiers.

The location has only one oratory, the St Mary, Refuge of Sinners, is dedicated. The inhabitants are Catholic. and Protestant church Patschkau.

Since 1817 the town had a school. 1935 the old school building from 1843 was replaced by a new one. 1925 47 children attended the school einklassige.

1845: 316 inhabitants, 51 houses

1895: 300 inhabitants, 65 households

1939: 300 inhabitants, 73 households;

In the 21st century, it Kozielno become a place on the lake, because it is now on the south bank of the new Patsch Kauer reservoir.
