Krailling

Krailling is a municipality in the northeastern district of Starnberg, Upper Bavaria. It is immediately adjacent to the district of Munich and is also considered a suburb of the city of Munich.

Geography

Krailling lies in planning Munich region. The municipality covers an area of 16.0 km ². The place is in Würmtal, about 14 kilometers north of the county town of Starnberg and four kilometers southwest of Munich.

The settlement area is the growing together of the community Planegg, also belongs to the parish Planegg and has the same zip code, but does not belong in contrast to Planegg to the district of Munich, but for the district of Starnberg. History

Structures

The town's landmark is the Margaret Church. It was first documented in 1315. 1747 she received current appearance with the distinctive onion dome. The church was completely renovated in 2005/2006 from the outside.

Foundations and cellar of the former castle were found during archaeological excavations in 2005. The basement foundations were uncovered and preserved with a canopy. Stone boundaries show the former extent and a plaque explaining the history of the Hofmarkschlosses.

The villa of architect Martin Dulfer (1902 ), one of the pioneers of Art Nouveau in Germany, has a charming Baroque-style Art Nouveau façade. Unfortunately, the organic- abstract stucco no longer exists.

Monument

Since 1989, commemorated by a bronze sculpture by Hubertus von Pilgrim on the road to the Gautinger monitored by the SS death march of thousands of prisoners from the Dachau concentration camp in April 1945. 20 identical sculptures are still on the entire march route.
