Krishnanagar ( Bengali: কৃষ্ণনগর, Kṛṣṇanagar s for short Krishnagar ) is a city in the Indian state of West Bengal with a population of about 152,000 ( 2011 census ). It is the administrative seat of the district of Nadia.

The town is located 118 km north-east of Kolkata on the river Jalangi on an average height of 14 meters above sea level. Among the main economic sectors in addition to agriculture include (rice, jute, sugar cane ) sugar and ceramic production.

Since 1864 is Krishnanagar city. Its attractions include the Palace of Raja Krishnachandra ( Rajbari ), in the courtyard, a Durga temple is located.
