Kristina Train

Kristina Train ( born January 17, 1982 in New York ) is an American singer / songwriter who lives in London since 2011.

Train was born in New York City, but grew up in Savannah, Georgia from the age of 9 years. Her mother, Kathy Beatty is a teacher in Savannah. Train is her only child. In her youth she sang in school and church choirs and helped with the Savannah Music Festival.

Train began in 1999 with professional singing and violin playing.

2001 played Train ago in New York at the Blue Note Records, where she was offered a contract. Train was but after her mother's wish and went to college. At college, she played with a band in Athens, Georgia.

Career

2009: Spilt Milk

Trains debut album Spilt Milk was released on 20 October 2009. Blue Note originally wanted Train with Lee Alexander, the producer of Norah Jones, working together, but instead went Train to London and asked Jimmy Hogarth to produce their album. Train co-wrote eight songs on the album and worked with Hogarth, Eg White and Ed Harcourt. Train arranged and overdubbte strings on three takes of Spilt Milk.

2012: Dark Black

On October 26, 2012 Kristina appeared Trains last album Dark Black in the UK in online sales and on November 5, 2012 on CD. On the new album she worked mainly with Ed Harcourt and the songwriter / producer Martin Craft. The album was released by Mercury Records (UK ).

Other Projects

Train occurs more often as a singer and violinist with the band Scrapomatic. In addition to their album Alligator Love Cry from 2006 she appeared as a songwriter in appearance.

Train played in August 2009 as Vorakt before concerts of Chris Isaak, Susan Tedeschi for in October 2009, and Keb 'Mo' October-November 2009. She also sang at the TJ Martell Foundation 34th Annual Awards Gala, along with Willie Nelson, Dianne Reeves and Wynton Marsalis on October 28, 2009.

Train also contributed vocals on on the 2010 album by Marc Cohn Listening Booth and singing and violin playing on Collin Rockers 2010s debut album MilkBox Love, Jukebox Blood, & Other American Favorites.

Train went from 15 June 2010 until September 23, 2011 with Herbie Hancock on tour and supported Amy Macdonald, in October and November 2012 in their tour of the UK.

On December 11, 2010 Kristina Train played with Herbie Hancock, India.Arie and Greg Phillinganes at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Norway.

Her song Dark Black from the eponymous album can be heard Measuring the World in the credits of the movie film.
