Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area

The landscape park Krivoklatsko ( German Pürglitzer Forest) was proclaimed in 1978. It occupies an area of 628 km ². Is managed the landscape park along the hilly landscape of the river and its tributaries Berounka.

This includes different oak forests, forest-steppe, steppe and rock formations. Valuable this region is also from the point of view of geology and geomorphology.

As a scientifically important area Krivoklatsko was included in the international network of biosphere reserves by UNESCO.

Efforts to explain the area is also a national park, are valued differently. While conservationists support the exercise, the region's residents fear further restrictions in various areas, such as the construction.
