Kruszyna, Pomeranian Voivodeship

Kruszyna ( German Krussen ) is a village in the municipality Kobylnica in powiat Słupski ( Stolp ) of the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Geographical location

Kruszyna located in Pomerania, about 23 kilometers south of the city of Slupsk ( Stolp ) and 23 kilometers east of the city Sławno ( Schlawe ).

History

Krussen and Lüllemin were awarded on a list to Wolgast felled by Duke Bogislaw X in 1494 verdict of the town of Stolp, because the city had been in the possession of these two goods already for thirty years. The village was created in the form of a small cul de sac village. Around 1784 had Krussen eight pawns, one Kossäten, a blacksmith, a forester, a schoolmaster and a total of 16 households.

In 1925 were in Krussen 56 residential buildings. 1939 were counted 87 households and 319 inhabitants, and in the community, there were 53 farms, an inn, a blacksmith shop and a branch of a savings and loan association.

Until 1945 the village belonged to the district of Stolp Krussen in the district of Pomerania Pomerania. The municipal area was 611 hectares. In the district Krussen there was only one residence Krussen.

Towards the end of World War II took place in early March 1945 in the region of Krussen fighting took place, as the Red Army approached along the road Stolp. Previously, the villagers had tried to escape in the trek, but the trek was overrun by Soviet troops, and they had to return. Only a few managed to escape over Gotenhafen by ship to Denmark. In the spring of 1946, the Soviet troops evacuated the village and it was followed by Poland took over the farms. Krussen was renamed Kruszyna. The German villagers have been displaced.

121 villagers were later determined from Krussen in the Federal Republic of Germany and 239 in East Germany.

School

Before 1945 Krussen had a single-level elementary school. In 1932 there taught a single teacher 54 school children.

Church

The villagers before 1945 present in Krussen were Protestant. Krussen belonged to the parish Quack castle and thus to the church Stolp City.
