Krutitsy

Krutitsy (Russian Крутицы ) is an architectural ensemble in the district Tagansky from Moscow ( Russia). It now houses a metohi of the Moscow Patriarchate.

The diocese title Krutitsy goes back to a church that was already built about 5000 meters from the Kremlin by Prince Daniel in the 13th century. The former residence of the Metropolitan of Krutitsy and Kolomna, the metohi Krutitsy, located just south of the New Saviour Monastery on the hills of Moskwaufers. The center of the complex is now the Assumption Church with her black onion roofs. It was built in 1667-1688. Famous is the main house, the Teremok, due to its exceptional tile jewelry. He comes from Ossip Elder, 1688-1694. During the communist era in the church was an auto repair shop in the palace and a prison, later exhibitions were held there.
