Krzysztof Obłój

Krzysztof Obłój ( born October 30, 1954) is a Polish economist and university professor. He is the director of the Institute of Strategic Management ( ger.: Zakad Zarządzania Strategicznego ) at the Management Faculty of the University of Warsaw. He also holds the Chair of Strategic Management at the private Warsaw Leon Koźmiński Academy.

Life

Krzysztof Obłój is the son of a chemist Józef Obłój. In 1977, he completed his studies at the former SzkoĹ Planowania i Statystyki. Following, he worked at the Warsaw University as an assistant, and after his graduation ( topic: organizational and management theory ) from 1980 as a lecturer. In 1987 he completed his habilitation at the University of Warsaw (Topic: Strategic Management ). From 1993 to 1994 he was president of the European International Business Academy ago ( EIBA ), which he is a Fellow since 2002. From 1995 he taught as a professor at the Leon Kozminski University and since 1996 as a full professor at the University of Warsaw. In 1996 and 1997 he was a Fulbright scholar.

Taught as a visiting professor / he taught regularly at the Sun Yat -sen University, Guangdong, ESCP -EAP, the BI Norwegian Business School, Henley Management College, the University of Illinois in Urbana, Yale University, Central Connecticut State University and the Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

Obłój was and is much published. In the United States, the books " Management Systems" (1993) and published "Winning: Continuous Improvement Theory in High Performance Organizations" (1995). In Europe, he is co-author of various works. His articles were published in scientific media such as entrepreneurship. Theory and Practice, Journal of Management Studies, European Management Journal, Industrial & Environmental Crisis Quarterly, International Small Business Journal, and Cybernetics and Systems. Published on International Journal. Some of his books were laid in Poland bestsellers and have been published in several editions: " Strategia firmy sukcesu, " (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2004), " Strategia organizacji " (1999, 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2007 ) or " Pasja i dyscyplina Strategii " (2010 and 2011). In collaboration with Janusz Palikot in 2003 was the work " Myśli o nowoczesnym biznesie ", in cooperation with Andrzej Koźmiński " Zarys teorii równowagi organizacyjnej " (1986).

Obłój worked as a strategy and management consultant for the Polish offices of companies such as Asea Brown Boveri, LG Group and Reckitt Benckiser. He is Chairman of the Board at Alior Bank SA and Prochem SA. Former Supervisory Board positions ( often referred to as Chairman), he held, among others, at Agora SA, Ambra SA, Euro Bank SA, Impel SA, NFI Foksal SA, PGF SA, PKN Orlen SA, Polmos Lublin SA or PZU SA from.
