Krzysztof Putra

Krzysztof Jakub Putra ( born July 4, 1957 in Józefowo in the Podlaskie Voivodeship; † 10 April 2010 Smolensk, Russia) was a Polish politician, Senator, Deputy Senate Marshal, a deputy in the Sejm in the X, I and VI. Legislature and Deputy Marshal of the Sejm - also in the VI. Election period.

Life

From August 1980 Putra belonged to the independent trade union Solidarity. From 1975 to 1994 he worked in a factory in Białystok, first as a laborer and in 1983 as Master. In the X. term (1989 to 1991) he was a member of the Solidarity Citizens' Committees in the Sejm. 1990 was one of the founders of the Centre Putra Alliance and in the First term of the Sejm he was in the years 1991 to 1993 deputy of the party. In 2001 he was one of the founders of Law and Justice ( Prawo i Sprawiedliwość, short PiS) and was President of the PiS in the region of Podlasie. In the years from 2002 to 2005 he had a seat in the Sejm of the Podlaskie Voivodeship.

In the parliamentary elections in Poland in 2005 Putra was elected senator. From 27 October 2005 to November 4, 2007, he was Deputy Senate Marshal ( Wicemarszałkowie Senatu ).

Putra won a parliamentary seat in the parliamentary elections in Poland in 2007, where he received 53651 votes in the constituency Białystok. On 5 November 2007 he was a candidate for the parliamentary faction of the PiS as Marshal of the Sejm ( Marszalek Sejmu Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej ); However, he lost to Bronislaw Komorowski, the candidate of the Platforma Obywatelska ( Civic Platform ), with a ratio of 160 to 292 votes and was elected Deputy Marshal of the Sejm a day later.

On April 10, 2010 Krzysztof Jakub Putra belonged to a Polish delegation headed by President Lech Kaczyński, who was to travel on the occasion of the seventieth anniversary of the Katyn massacre to the memorial to Russia. However, in a plane crash of the delegation near the military airfield Smolensk - North he came together with other high-ranking representatives of Poland died. Posthumously, the Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta ( Krzyż Komandorski z Gwiazda Orderu Odrodzenia Polski ) he was awarded on April 16, 2010.
