Kultur Shock

Culture Shock is a multinational, U.S. based band.

Culture Shock was founded in Seattle in 1996. The founder and lead singer of the band is Srdjan " Gino " Jevđević who already made ​​as a pop star with his band " Gino Banana " in Yugoslavia career. Together with the also from Bosnia originating Mario Butković (guitar ), he was thrown into the turmoil of war to Bosnia in the United States. The Bulgarian-born Val Kiossovski (guitar) came in 1991 as a political refugee in the U.S. and plays in the band since 2000. In the current occupation of the Americans Chris Stromquist found next to these Jevđević and Kiossovski, (drums ), Guy Davis ( bass), Amy Denio (clarinet ) and Paris Hurley ( violin ).

The music of Kultur Shock combines elements of punk, new metal, Latin, funk and fusion jazz with influences of the music of the Balkan region. The band members describe their music as Balkan punk.

The lyrics are often humorous and politically Jevđević and reflect his anarchist worldview. He sings in English, Serbo-Croatian, Spanish, Bulgarian and German.

In March 2014, the band launched a crowdfunding campaign to enable the production of their ninth album.
