Kurd Dagh ( "Mountain of the Kurds ", Arabic جبل الاكراد Jabal al - Akrad, Kurdish Çiyayê Kurmênc / Shaxi Kurd, Turkish Kurt Dagi ( "Mountain of the Wolves" ) ) is the name of a region between Turkey and Syria, or more precisely between Gaziantep and Aleppo.

Geography and climate

History

The Kurdish emir and historian Şerefhan told in his Şerefname that in the Kurd Dagh Kurdish emirs of Kilis, whose influence reached as far as Antakya prevailed. The Kurd Dagh was up to the First World War, part of the Ottoman Empire and enjoyed like many other Kurdish principalities until the middle of the 19th century a certain autonomy.
