Kurdistan TV

Kurdistan TV is a Kurdish television station based in the autonomous region of Kurdistan in Iraq.

The first broadcast began in 1999 and Kurdistan TV was thus the first Kurdish station in northern Iraq. The station belongs to the Democratic Party of Kurdistan Masud Barzani of. The Turkish journalist ilnur Çevik from Turkish Daily News is said to have helped in the establishment, with the consent of the Turkish government, which wanted to break the PKK propaganda of Medya TV.

According to information from the transmitter has offices in most cities of the Kurdistan Autonomous Region and correspondent offices in Iran, Turkey and some European countries. Overall, the transmitter has more than 250 full-time employees according to their own information.

The program contributions are held mainly in Kurdish, in some programs but is also Arabic and Turkish speaking. Kurdistan TV can be received via Eutelsat in Europe, West Asia and North Africa and Telstar in North America.
