Course village about 13.5 kilometers north-west of Leipzig, near the border of Saxony and Saxony -Anhalt. The place is completely enclosed by the facilities of the airport Leipzig / Halle. In the immediate proximity of the place run the A14 and the new line Erfurt-Leipzig/Halle.

The first written mention dates from 1497 as Kunsstorf. August Schumann called 1818 in the state of Saxony lexicon Kursdorf concerning, among other things:

Since the late 1990s, about 70 percent of the inhabitants left the place in which currently still about 25 people live. Reasons for emigration are the high air and noise pollution. The village surrounding the airport, in which it is the (measured by the number of passengers ) twelfth-largest airport in Germany, has only a partial ban on night flights. The geographical location of the place in the middle of an airport site and the resulting living conditions served as a template for the play " airstrip " the playwright and native Schkeuditzers Dirk Laucke (Co-author David Richter ). The premiere took place in Osnabrück Theatre on 16 May 2010.
