Course village about 13.5 kilometers north-west of Leipzig, near the border of Saxony and Saxony -Anhalt. The place is completely enclosed by the facilities of the airport Leipzig / Halle. In the immediate proximity of the place run the A14 and the new line Erfurt-Leipzig/Halle.

The first written mention dates from 1497 as Kunsstorf. August Schumann called 1818 in the state of Saxony lexicon Kursdorf concerning, among other things:
