Kurt Noack

Kurt Noack (* February 13, 1893; † January 1, 1945 ) was a German composer. His works are the salon or entertainment music Act.

About the composer Kurt Noack and his life we know almost nothing. He was for many years head of the chapel in Preussenhof in Szczecin.

Best known is his piece Flibbertigibbets op 5 in D major, whose original version was published for piano two hands in 1912 in Stettin in the Baltic music publisher. The cover picture, work of an unknown graphic artist, shows three white-bearded dwarves dressed in green and red cap, the march past a gallery of seven toadstools goose-stepping in front of a blue cloudy sky. In her left hand she hold a rather bulky looking, concealed from her body gun. On the cover of this edition in the Schott -Verlag 1934 she wear instead of a spear gun.

Noack also worked as an arranger, including he arranged the march With faith of the composer Carl Teike ( Old Comrades ) for salon orchestra, 1925 published by Moerike in Szczecin.

Volume 2 of the multi-volume edition The sounding book. A collection of great successes of popular music for piano (Schott 1936) bears the title Kurt Noack.

The rather dismissive assessment, for example, the character piece Flibbertigibbets (sometimes bowdlerized to " Heinzelmännchens wax Parade ") (" trivial, shallow " ) through contemporary music criticism has the popularity of the work done any harm. There are numerous treatments for all sorts of occupations: for piano four hands, for Salon Orchestra, for orchestra, for cello and piano, accordion, autoharp, string quartet, cello quartet, even for bassoon quartet. Some will be launched today, also there are numerous recordings, including the Bremer Kaffeehaus -Orchester on 15 September 2000 or by the carillon concert on the Market Church in Wiesbaden ( Audio CD 1996).
