Kvitretten

Kvitretten is a jazz related a cappella group from Norway who is committed to improvising and experimental vocals.

Band History

The vocal ensemble was founded in the cast Tone Åse, Anna Sundström, Kjersti Stubø, Hans Jørgen Stop and Eldbjørg Raknes 1991. All members have undergone vocal training at a Norwegian university. The compositions are mostly either from his own pen ( Eldbjørg Raknes ) or a contemporary Norwegian jazz composers such as Jon Balke or Christian Wallumrød. Since 1994 Kvitretten occurs in clubs and at festivals throughout Scandinavia and Germany. There are also several TV appearances in Norway and Finland. Following the retirement of Anna Sundström (1994 ) and Hans Jørgen Stop ( 1995) and the accession of the new singer Kristin Asbjørnsen (known from the jazz-rock band Dadafon ), which also contributes compositions for vocal quartet, the published in 1996 debut CD Voices in Norway a great success. After the subsequent tour also Kjersti Stubø leaves the quartet and is replaced by Solveig Slettahjell 1997. After the release of the CD Everything turns 1999, provides 2000 as part of an artistic project with the musician and composer Christian Wallumrød and the poet Torgeir Pedersen Rebbolledo the date last CD Kloden he s snurrebass snurrer som oss, which is however not published until 2002.
