Kwakwani

Kwakwani is a municipality on the Berbice River in the province of Upper Demerara - Berbice in eastern Guyana.

Kwakwani is located about 40 kilometers south of Linden. The mining of bauxite is the main industry. In Kwakwani there is a high school, a ferry service to New Amsterdam there since late 2008. The town has an airport with the identifier SYKW.

During the flood in January 2005, which also Kwakwani was concerned, the road link was destroyed by Linden.
