The L' Austral is a luxury cruise ship, which is used by the French cruise company Compagnie Des Iles You Ponant, Marseille.

History

The ship was placed as a sister ship Le Boréal in service on 20 April 2011 and represents the latest technology in the field of cruise ships. On the maiden voyage it went from Marseille, France to Lisbon, Portugal.

Equipment

There are 132 cabins and suites for 264 passengers and accommodation for 140 crew members on board. Most of the cabins have a private balcony. Further facilities include individually adjustable climate control, private bathroom, satellite TV, DVD and CD player, iPod docking station, Wi-Fi, safe and minibar. Six of the deck of the vessel are available to the passengers. On board both English and French is spoken German is to be included in the future.

The vessel has ice class 1C and is therefore suitable for driving in ice-covered waters with an ice thickness of up to 40 centimeters approved ..
