La Amistad International Park

The National Park La Amistad (Spanish Parque Internacional La Amistad ) is located between the countries of Costa Rica and Panama. Approximately 194,000 acres of the park are in Costa Rica, 207,000 hectares in Panama. The highest point in the national park is the 3549 m high " Cerro Kamuk ".

The national park consists mostly of rain and cloud forest. So far, 263 species of amphibians and reptiles have been discovered, most of them lizards. UNESCO declared the park in 1983, World Cultural and Natural World Heritage Site.
