La Celle (Cher)

La Celle is a once to the small town of Bruère belonging municipality with 350 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the French department of Cher in the Centre region.

Besides lying on the forest Meillant reclaimed land in the valley of the Cher, about 37 kilometers south of Bourges town include two hamlets to La Celle.

  • The church of Saint -Blaise - This Romanesque church was built during the 12th century, after the pattern of Benedictine religious buildings. It is known the unusual archaic sculptural decoration on the facade. In addition to the remains of wall paintings and statues, the church houses the tomb of St.. Silvanus from the 15th century.
  • The Chapel of Saint -Sylvain from the 15th century.
