La Roux

La Roux is a British electro-pop duo consisting of singer Eleanor " Elly " Jackson ( born March 8, 1988), daughter of the English actress Trudie Goodwin, and associated with bands such as Faithless producer Ben Langmaid. The duo 's Grammy Award-winner. With the single In for the Kill, they reached the first successes, with Bulletproof international breakthrough. The single reached number 1 in the UK even

The band's name, which contradicts the French grammar, due to the fact that La Roux of two persons ( Jackson & Langmaid ) exists. The band's name refers to how Jackson explains on her red hair and her rather boyish appearance. In the Franco- Canadian TV show " Tout le monde en parle " Elly explained that she has La Roux found in a book of baby names. The grammatical errors explains Elly nonchalantly: " It was an English book! "

Musical Style

The sound of La Roux is characterized primarily by the British synth-pop bands of the early to mid- 1980s, such as Depeche Mode, Erasure, The Human League, Yazoo and the Eurythmics.
