La Tropicale Amissa Bongo

La Tropicale Amissa Bongo Ondimba is a road bicycle race in Gabon, which was first staged in 2006. As part of the UCI Africa Tour, it was classified in the first two years in the category of 2.2 and was added to the higher category 2.1 in 2008. The competition is composed of five sections stage race. The name of the event to commemorate Albertine Amissa Bongo, the 1993 deceased daughter of Gabonese President Omar Bongo Ondimba. In 2008 the total race distance was 594 kilometers.
