Lacena Golding-Clarke

Lacena Golding -Clarke (born Golding, born 20 March 1975) is a former Jamaican hurdler, who specialized in the 100-meter distance.

She began her career as a long jumper and won in this discipline bronze at the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1998 and Gold at the Central American and Caribbean Championships in 1999. At the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and 2000 in Sydney and at the 1997 World Championships in Athens and 1999 in Seville she left in qualifying.

After her marriage to the Sprinter Davian Clarke joined the hurdles she had operated until then sporadically, and was eighth on 60 meter hurdles at the World Indoor Championships in 2001 in Lisbon. The following year she won at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester.

In 2003, she finished fourth on 60 meter hurdles at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham, won bronze at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo and was eighth at the World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis. In 2004, she finished sixth at the World Indoor Championships in Budapest, fifth at the Olympic Games in Athens and the Third World Athletics Final.

Another sixth place finish at the World Indoor Championships in Moscow in 2006 was followed in the same year a fourth place at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. At the 2007 World Championships in Osaka and at the World Championships in Berlin in 2009, she reached the semi-finals and at the World Indoor Championships in Valencia in 2008 they finished fourth.

After they had reached the final for the sixth time at the World Indoor Championships in 2010 and seventh in a row had become, she ended her athletic career.

Lacena Golding -Clarke is 1,68 m tall and weighed 61 kg in their active time. In 1998, she completed a degree at Auburn University.
