Lackland Air Force Base is a military airbase of the United States Air Force, under the authority of the Air Education and Training Command ( AETC ). It is located west of San Antonio, Texas, USA and was named after Brigadier General Frank Lackland. Lackland AFB is part of Joint Base San Antonio and is operated by the 502d Air Base Wing. At the 11.1 km ² Base live 7123 people.

Aircraft collection

In addition to the parade ground is the " Lackland Air Force Base Aircraft Collection " is a permanent exhibition of historical military aircraft. The collection includes, among others, the pattern B -52 Stratofortress, McDonnell F- 4 Phantom II, Lockheed SR -71 Blackbird, C -121 Constellation, Boeing B -17 Flying Fortress and North American B -25 " Mitchell ".
