Lacus Gaudii

Lacus Gaudii - Latin for Sea of Joy - a solidified lava lake on the moon, of the larger Maria similar to that of the emergence ago. The term has been defined by the International Astronomical Union in 1976.

The small irregular sea surface with an indefinite boundary has an average diameter of 113 km and is located on the near side of the moon at the selenographic coordinates 16 ° 12 'North and 12 ° 36 ' East. The lake is surrounded to the north and north-east of the Montes Haemus and the Mare Serenitatis, in the southeast by the Lacus hiemalis, to the south by Lacus Lenitatis and to the west by Lacus Doloris.
