Montes Haemus
The Montes Haemus are a mountain range on Earth's Moon. They are surrounded by the mountains in the southeast Apenninus from Sea of Tranquility, to the northeast of Mare Serenitatis and in the West.
The name was derived by Johannes Hevelius from the former Greek name for the Balkan Mountains ( " Haemus, mons Thraciae " ) and by the International Astronomical Union in 1961 officially established. The mountains are up to 2.4 km high, and the diameter of the fuselage mountain is about 400 km.
