Laholm

Laholm is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Halland County and the historical province of Halland. The chief town of the same name originated in the 13th century and is the only city in the community. By Laholm the Lagan River flows.

History

Laholm is one of Sweden's oldest cities and the oldest city in the historical province of Halland. Laholm was first mentioned in documents in the 13th century, when it still belonged to Denmark. During the wars between Sweden and Denmark in the 16th and 17th centuries Laholm was burnt down several times.
