Lake Burbury

The Lake Burbury is a reservoir in the west of the Australian state of Tasmania. It is located north- west then to the Franklin - Gordon Wild Rivers National Park.

It was formed by the damming of several rivers in the early 1990s, including mainly the King River and the River Princess. The River Andrew, who is actually in the Gordon River flows through the Franklin River, is also connected at its southern tip to the reservoir.

The lake was named after a former governor of Tasmania, Stanley Burbury, named.

The Lyell Highway which crosses the lake today, was moved before the construction in this area several miles to the south where to himself, ' Bradshaw '' the narrowest point for a bridge revealed.

The lake is in spite of the frequently changing weather a popular fishing waters, primarily for rainbow and brown trout.
