Lalsk

Lalsk (Russian Лальск ) is a Russian urban-type settlement in Kirov Oblast Raion Lusa. She has (October 14, 2010 Balance ) 3705 inhabitants.

Geography

Lalsk is located in the extreme northwest of the Kirov Oblast, 528 km north- west of the capital of Kirov and 27 km west of Rajonszentrums Lusa, just north of the mouth of the river Lala in the Lusa.

History

In 1570 founded settlers from Novgorod who were before the pogrom under Ivan IV fled, on the banks of Lala a Pogost ( called Nikolski pogost ). Due to its convenient location at the intersection of several major highways, the soon renamed Lalski Posad settlement developed in the 17th and 18th centuries an important trading center and was in 1780 under its present name, the administrative seat of its own Ujesds Lalsk within the oblast Ustjug ( governorship Vologda ), which, however, only until 1796 had on hand and was then incorporated into the new Ujesd Ustjug. Attractions

By the early economic decline, a number of important architectural monuments of the 17th and 18th centuries have been preserved in Lalsk that depart from the former prime witness. Church of Christ Resurrection
