Lambchop (band)

Lambchop (English: Lamb Chop ) is an American alternative country band from Nashville, Tennessee. The band is an up to 18 -man collective led by former Parkettleger Kurt Wagner (born 1958 ), who writes both the lyrics and the music and with its slightly smoky voice shapes the sound of the band. The music is characterized by a certain minimalism, that is, by conservation of instrumentation and a quiet, withdrawn handling, which is often referred to by fans as "soft elegance ". In Europe, the panels of the label Lambchop City Slang appeared.

With the release of their album, the 2008 OH ( ohio ) the group and their label went an unusual way: The CD was its case and booklet of the October issue of the magazine Rolling Stone, whose price was for only slightly increased. However, the action also attracted criticism: Two major retail chains they took occasion to banish Lambchop albums from their shelves.

The highly acclaimed by the critics album Mr. M was strong was by Vic Chesnutt's suicide, the friend and mentor Kurt Wagner coined. Wagner painted the Cover and the illustrations of the booklet in a musical hiatus.
