Lambert of Ardres

Lambert of Ardres (* 1160, † 1227 ) was a French chronicler of the 12th century. He was a pastor in Ardres near Calais and is the author of a court chronicle, which is one of the most decorated of northern France.

This chronicle, the Historia comitum Ghisnensium, tells the story of the Counts of Guines and Lords of Ardres. It also contains tales and courtly traditions. He started with her writing 1194-1198 and created it in 1203 finished. The work was first published in 1855 under the title Chronique de Guines et d' Ardre of Denis -Charles Godefroy - Ménilglaise.
