Lamina terminalis

The lamina terminalis (Latin lamina layer, thin plate terminalis at an endpoint ) is a tissue structure in the brain. It is unpaired and develops from the forebrain. It forms the front wall of the third Hirnventrikels and contains the organum vasculosum laminae terminalis. She was originally a part of the neural tube. It connects the two hemispheres of the brain. The location is the optic between the roof of the diencephalon and the optic chiasm.

In the lamina terminalis, the commissure, the corpus callosum (bar ), the habenularum anterior commissure ( commissure rostral ) and posterior commissure of the fornix and the commissure arise.
