Landgravine Sophie of Hesse-Kassel

Sophie of Hesse- Kassel ( born September 12, 1615 Kassel, † November 22, 1670 in Biickeburg ) was a princess of Hesse- Kassel and by marriage Countess of Schaumburg -Lippe.

Life

Sophie was a daughter of the Landgrave Moritz of Hesse- Kassel (1572-1632) from his marriage with Juliane (1587-1643), daughter of Count John of Nassau- Dillenburg.

They married on October 12, 1640 in Hagen Graf Philipp I of Schaumburg -Lippe ( 1601-1681 ). Through his marriage to Philip secured the renewed investiture with the drawn offices Rodenberg, Hagen castle and episcopal castle, which was linked to the condition, to insinuate his county the auspices of Countess Elisabeth Amalie of Hesse- Kassel.
