Landry Jones

Landry Jones ( born April 4, 1989 in Artesia, New Mexico) is an American professional American football player at the position of quarterback. He plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League ( NFL).

College

Jones played from 2009 to 2012 college football for the University of Oklahoma. His first try for the Oklahoma Sooners, he had in the first game in 2009 when then- quarterback Sam Bradford failed against the Brigham Young University with a shoulder injury. The next two games started Jones as starting quarterback. The first won the Sooners against the Idaho State University with 64:0 and in the second game he threw in 45:0 win against the University of Tulsa six touchdowns - a new team record for the Sooners.

In 2010, he led the Sooners in the Bowl Championship Series. In the Fiesta Bowl against the University of Connecticut, he led the Sooners with the 48:20 victory for the first BCS victory since 2002.

Jones was selected in the 4th round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Before his last year at college he married on 6 July 2012, Whitney Hand, a player of the basketball team, Oklahoma State University, which was drafted in April 2013 by the San Antonio Silver Stars of the Women's National Basketball Association ( WNBA).
