Langå Municipality

Langå Commune was until December 2006 a Danish municipality in the former Århus Amt in eastern Jutland. It was created as part of the Danish administrative reform of 1970 and included the following Sogn:

  • Houlbjerg Sogn Sogn and Granslev (Town Houlbjerg - Granslev )
  • Værum Sogn Sogn and Ørum (Town Værum - Ørum )
  • Øster Velling Sogn, Helstrup Sogn Sogn and Grensten (Town Øster Velling - Helstrup - Grensten )
  • Langå Sogn Sogn and Torup (Town Langå - Torup - Sønder Vinge )
  • Laurbjerg Sogn (Town Laurbjerg - Lerbjerg )

By revisiting the administrative reform in 2007 Langå community was divided. The southern Sogn Granslev, Houlbjerg and Laurbjerg form since then with the former municipalities Hammel, Hadsten, Hinnerup and Hvorslev the newly formed Favrskov municipality. The other Sogn were allocated to the greater community of Randers.
