Langenaubach is a district of the city Haiger in the Lahn- Dill-Kreis in Hesse means.

Langenaubach had on 31 December 2011 a total of 1798 inhabitants, of whom 73.3 % were Protestant and 10.8 % Catholic. East of the village is the former pit " Constanze ". Langenaubach is located on the Rothaarsteig.

History

Langenaubach was first mentioned on January 18, 1281, it was then and the stream running through the place the name Ubach. Later it was renamed to better differentiate from Ubach also mentioned Waldaubach in Langenaubach.

The independent community Langenaubach was for many years by the degradation of natural resources and income on the forestry so wealthy that its citizens needed to pay municipal taxes.

Previously the place had a station on the railway line Haiger - Breitscheidstraße.

Local proverbial, but generally related special characteristics of the residents brought forth a lot, mostly well-meaning jokes that characterize these as " East Frisians of the Westerwald ".

In the course of municipal reform in Hesse, the community Langenaubach was incorporated on 1 January 1977 by a state law in the city Haiger.

On October 9, 1968, the municipality Langenaubach was awarded a coat of arms with the following blazon in the former Dillkreis: From green U-shaped plate edge growing a black top on a golden background.

Wild women house

A striking landmark of Langenaubach is the wild wives cottage, near the L3044 to detect. With 30 meters of rock from the forest stands out. About this rock there are many legends that are told in the village.
