Langley (crater)

Langley is an impact crater on the far western edge of the lunar front side, therefore is invisible due to the libration and if visible from the Earth, then highly distorted. It is located west of Oceanus Procellarum, between the craters Galvani in the south, the edge of Langley partially covered, and Volta in the north. On the northeastern edge of the secondary craters J Langley and Langley K. lie The rim is heavily eroded.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1964 after the American astrophysicist Samuel Pierpont Langley.
