Galvani (crater)

76.83

Galvani is an impact crater on the far western edge of the lunar front side, therefore is invisible due to the libration and if visible from the Earth, then highly distorted. It is located west of Oceanus Procellarum, to the south of the Volta and southwest of Repsold. He covers the northern edge of the heavily eroded Wall level of Gerard Q Outer. The rim is relatively heavily eroded. The northern part covers some of the crater Langley.

The crater was formed in 1961 officially named by the IAU by the Italian biophysicist Luigi Galvani.
